My elderly mum, who’s 87, got a call from this number accusing her of having illegal images on her computer. The caller tried to make her open her PC while they were on the line, but she refused. Then he started shouting threats, saying he’d come round to her house. She’s really shaken up by all this and is now thinking about cutting off her internet and even her phone line altogether. She’s planning to report the number to try and stop this happening to others.

Got a call on my home phone from someone claiming to be Sky. They knew my name and tried to push some exclusive deal on me. I told them to send me the details by email instead, but they insisted it was a phone-only offer. When I said I don’t talk to cold callers, they suddenly got quite rude.
