What a scam from Microsoft!

I had a rather dodgy encounter with a chap claiming to be a computer whizz. I quickly realised it was a scam, so I put the phone down on him without hesitation.

Received a call earlier purporting to offer assistance with issues related to downloading Windows 7. The chap's English was rather poor and quite challenging to comprehend. I suggest telling them to clear off-absolute rubbish!

I received a call that didn’t say a peep but just a heads up based on what’s been mentioned above - remember, MICROSOFT never reaches out to customers unless it's in response to something they've asked first.

I've received calls from this number, and it appears to be associated with a bunch of cyber scammers. They reach out claiming they're here to assist you in preventing nasty files from invading your system. They'll point you towards a website, www.ammyy.com, which I suspect is a front for their dodgy activities. Just a few clicks, and you could find yourself with a compromised computer and sensitive information at risk. For your own sake, steer clear of anything they suggest. It's a classic ruse; having worked in IT, I'm acutely aware of their tactics. Just remember, legitimate support from tech companies doesn’t involve unsolicited calls-any updates are dealt with through official patches straight to your operating system. Stay vigilant!

I just had a rather peculiar phone call from this number. A chap named Neil, who had quite a pronounced Indian accent and spoke in a rather broken manner, was claiming to represent a technical support team, insisting he could prevent annoying downloads from infiltrating my computer. I explained that I wasn't at my machine and that it wasn't an appropriate time for a chat, after which I politely ended the call. To my surprise, Neil decided to ring me back, asserting that we must have been disconnected. I calmly explained, “No, I hung up as it simply wasn’t a good time for me.” He then had the audacity to call me a daft person before abruptly terminating the call! Well, I suppose being a bit daft has its silver linings...
