Independent Financial Matters called me and seemed legit at first, but they had an outdated address of mine. I wouldn’t confirm my current address since they were the ones calling and should already have my info! Things got awkward when I said I’d call my insurance firm to verify. I asked for their phone number to ring back, and they gave me one without any area code. Turns out it was just some reference number on a finance site. Honestly, felt really sketchy. They keep ringing daily, sometimes even twice back to back.

Got a call from someone saying they were from Aviva about my life insurance, offering a better deal. I’ve been with Aviva for over 14 years and they’ve never contacted me before, so it sounded a bit dodgy. They said they could speed up payouts to family if I was terminally ill - sounds convincing and might fool some folks. The caller asked stuff only Aviva should know, but when I said they should already have that info, they said they worked for loads of big insurance companies and rattled off a bunch of names. I could tell it was a scam, but they kept going until I just hung up. Pretty worrying because it could easily catch out someone - don’t get fooled by it!

What a shambolic excuse for a company! I called them up to inquire about my life insurance, and the representative started firing off a barrage of personal questions that I simply would not entertain. When I asked why they'd even been instructed to contact me, his response was a curt "what's the point?" Then, without any further ado, he disconnected the call. It's utterly baffling how they obtain this sort of information about people. Quite frankly, what a rude way to conduct business!
