Got a call from some "independent financial matters" lot claiming they work with my insurer and can offer me a better price. Seriously, why would my actual insurance company pay them just to get less cash from me? They must think I've lost the plot. Best steer clear of these lot.

Received a phone call from someone alleging to represent Prudential with respect to life insurance. They correctly knew my full name, address, and date of birth. They mentioned an IFA briefly before ending the call abruptly. I have subsequently blocked their number.

It seems to be quite frustrating that there is no way to block certain numbers from calling. Whenever they call, I simply allow it to ring without answering. It would be helpful if there was a solution to deal with these individuals. It baffles me how they manage to obtain an ex-directory number and have chosen not to be listed in the open electoral role. Additionally, they do not provide their number to anyone.

They informed me that they were from Legal and General Insurance and solicited me to get life insurance through them. I usually verify unfamiliar phone numbers, you know.

Independent Financial Matters called me and seemed legit at first, but they had an outdated address of mine. I wouldn’t confirm my current address since they were the ones calling and should already have my info! Things got awkward when I said I’d call my insurance firm to verify. I asked for their phone number to ring back, and they gave me one without any area code. Turns out it was just some reference number on a finance site. Honestly, felt really sketchy. They keep ringing daily, sometimes even twice back to back.

What a shambolic excuse for a company! I called them up to inquire about my life insurance, and the representative started firing off a barrage of personal questions that I simply would not entertain. When I asked why they'd even been instructed to contact me, his response was a curt "what's the point?" Then, without any further ado, he disconnected the call. It's utterly baffling how they obtain this sort of information about people. Quite frankly, what a rude way to conduct business!
