Definitely a call centre - you can tell by the pause between picking up and someone actually speaking. They were pushing some sort of Health and Safety magazine subscription. From what others have said, it sounds like this place handles loads of different magazine offers.

Received a call purporting to be from the British Plastics and Rubber publication, stating that they were following up on a complimentary listing for our business. They claimed they wanted to verify some details, but it became abundantly clear it was a complete con as they had no clue about our company. Apparently, we were meant to have an existing listing which was news to me! I've since blocked the number.

What a right nuisance this is! Some fellow named "James", who had a distinct Indian accent, rang me up insisting that I had requested a Medical Magazine. When I explained that I hadn’t placed any order at all, he suddenly switched tactics and offered it to me for nada, as if that would somehow make it legit! Absolute charlatan, if you ask me… He had the audacity to call my work number, can you believe it? And here I am, all the way in Sweden! Do yourself a favour and block this number before they get a chance to bother you!

This outfit is a total sham, actively fishing for your private details to peddle to nefarious characters. Best to steer clear and not engage with them. When I inquired about the purpose of their call, their representative claimed they were updating their company records. I quizzed them about their right to contact me, and they had the audacity to say they'd sent a magazine my way-one that I certainly never requested! When I pressed for their address so I could lodge a complaint with Ofcom regarding their unsolicited call, the chap flatly refused to divulge that info. In the end, I was left hanging on the line for a good 20 minutes, waiting to speak to a manager.
