01619300041 Summary (Read all comments)

Phone number ☎️ 01619300041 👆 is reported as a telephone number linked to HSBC, primarily used for follow-up calls regarding mortgages, loans, and account enquiries. While some callers identify themselves as genuine HSBC staff, several users note questionable practices, such as abrupt behaviour, refusal to provide clear information, and calls that terminate abruptly with no option to return. The number is also associated with a branch acting as a debt collection agency. Caution is advised as some calls may attempt to extract personal information under unclear pretences; HSBC recommends verifying any such communications directly through official branch contacts. Overall, it appears to be a legitimate HSBC number but is often used for sales or debt-related purposes, so exercising vigilance when answering is prudent.

I got a call from hsbc about some PPI stuff. They only wanted to confirm some security details, like the last part of my date of birth and the last bit of my postcode, nothing too personal apart from that. It was quite straightforward, just checking identity I guess.

They said it was HBE Bromborough, but when I told them I wasn’t interested, they just shut the line straight away.

Never got any voicemail left, and when I try calling back, the phone just cuts out. Most likely some sort of telemarketing.

Had a call from someone saying they were with HSBC, talking about their products that could be good for me. Luckily, I’ve got marketing calls blocked on my account, so I told her to verify that. She just laughed and went “oh yeah!” quite cheekily.

I received a call from someone masquerading as a friend of a friend! When I called back, they claimed to be with HSBC. I'm not entirely convinced about their intentions - feels a bit shifty, if you ask me.

Does anyone know who just called our number?

I received a call from HSBC, and it appears to be quite genuine. While it was indeed a sales call, they were rightfully following up on an inquiry I had previously made.

I can confirm that this number belongs to an authentic HSBC branch. I received a call from one of their representatives who was checking in regarding a mortgage query I had previously raised.

The call was rather curt, and didn’t allow our partner to identify herself or explain the purpose of her call. The person on the other end insisted, "This is the bank!" However, our own bank confirmed they had no record of such a call. Quite puzzling if you ask me!

I just had a phone call from this number claiming to be from my local HSBC branch. It was the usual rigmarole, asking me to confirm my identity with my date of birth and such. I told them to send me a letter instead, and I’d pop in at my branch to discuss. When I attempted to ring the number back, it was completely silent.

Hello everyone,

So, I've found out that this number is linked to HSBC, albeit through one of their subsidiaries that handles debt collection. I’ve been in this situation myself, and they made it clear that payments must go through this specific arm rather than the main bank. Quite frustrating, I must say!

Anyway, it's not a pleasant experience at all.

Wishing you all the best!

- A chap rang me, purporting to be from HSBC Bank. - Strangely, he didn’t bother asking any security questions. - He was rather nosy about an old loan I had previously taken out and asked a few dubious questions. - I suggested he send me a letter and give me a ring instead. - I’ve since lodged a report with HSBC regarding this incident. - Whatever you do, don’t share any personal information with these individuals! - And to top it off, the call came through at half-past nine on a Saturday morning, and I can't even return the call!
