I have received multiple calls from this particular number on both my landline and mobile phone. The caller claims to be able to assist us with our PPI claim. They assured us that they would send us the necessary forms to fill out, but unsurprisingly, we have not received anything so far. My wife was contacted yesterday and asked about the arrival of the forms. In an attempt to get more information or contact them directly, I attempted to call the aforementioned number, but unfortunately, it was unresponsive.

got a call from a scammer this morning at about 10:48 on 28th october 2015, theyre clearly breaching the data protection laws by pretending to be someone else, probably breaking the fraud act 2006 too.

Got a call from some payment protection insurance refund people. They said they could get me money back for some insurance on loans I might have had without knowing. When I asked which loan, he mentioned something like Barclayloan but had no other info. Asked where they got my number from, and when I questioned if Barclays gave it to them, he got a bit awkward. The guy was polite enough, but still, not a call I wanted.

Instead, keep insisting on knowing how they obtained your phone number and request their personal details as well as the registration number of their company. This will allow you to verify their legitimacy with Companies House. However, upon checking, it becomes apparent that they are not registered with Companies House at all.
