Got a voicemail from this number claiming to be from the tax office. After seeing all the warnings here, I decided not to ring them back.

I got a call from a woman speaking with a northern accent who didn’t seem clear on who exactly she was after, so she just went ahead and asked for the business owner. When I flipped the question back and asked who was calling, she mentioned something about a council bill for me. She then asked if we were an NHS practice. Once I confirmed that we were, she said the bill didn’t concern us and promptly ended the call....

I had a run-in with Colette as well, and honestly, she was really rude and quite pushy. We get tons of cold calls at our workplace, so I usually try to stay polite, but her behaviour was just awful. She actually slammed the phone down on me, then had the cheek to ring twice more after that. When I calmly explained we weren’t interested in dealing with her company, she accused me of being rude and ended the call herself. It’s baffling why anyone would think that sort of pushy approach is acceptable - she really shouldn’t be out there speaking to people like that!

Got a call from someone called Colette saying it was the council wanting to talk about a bill. When I asked if she was really from the council, she snapped back saying I was being rude and that my manager wouldn’t be happy with me for doubting her. I tried once more to confirm where she worked but she told me she wasn’t going to answer my questions, calling me "lady" in a sharp voice, and then just ended the call!

Got a call today from someone saying they were ringing on behalf of the 'council'. I asked a few questions to check if it was legit and she got all defensive, even said it was rude to question her. She just kept repeating that she was from the ‘council’ but wouldn’t give any other details. Bit odd if you ask me.
