Got a call from a bloke with an Indian accent, started off real polite, saying it’d be a quick chat with just a few questions. He already had my name and where I live, which I found a bit odd, and wanted me to confirm it - which I didn’t. Then he asked what brand my washing machine was. Told him I wasn’t interested in carrying on, and he snapped back with some rude line about only talking to folks from the UK and telling me to go back to my country! My address was definitely in the UK though. Obviously I blocked him straight away.

Honestly, it was just some nonsense chit-chat, but I stayed calm and shut them down pretty quick. It definitely sounded like a big call centre on the line. I do feel sorry for folks who need jobs, though. The person calling had an Asian accent - I figured they were probably from India since I have mates and relatives over in Mumbai and Goa. I told them straight up I’m listed as vulnerable and that I’d be reporting their number. Didn’t get sucked into the convo much more and ended the call fast.

I got a call the other day from someone looking for Lucy Apsted. Apparently, a few years back, a Lucy Apsted punched in my number on some site by accident or something? Ever since then, I've been getting bombarded by dodgy scam calls meant for her. Cheers for that, Lucy! :-)

Got a call from someone with an Indian accent, sounded like they were somewhere in a busy call centre. Had a hard time making out what he was saying. I ended up blocking the number since I figured it was probably a scam. These sorts of calls keep coming in, feels like I’m blocking one of these every week! A lot of them even have London numbers.
