What I encountered was a recorded message that said something along the lines of, “You’re likely calling back due to a missed call from us, but we’re unable to determine where the call originated.” Clearly, this is just some sort of cold call scheme. What really irks me is the fact that it seems entirely feasible now for callers to mask their true identity by displaying a local number that isn’t actually theirs.
