Got a call from this number on me mobile earlier tonight. Didn’t pick up and slapped a block on it straight away. Same routine I always follow! But it doesn’t seem to help much, coz tomorrow another similar 0161 (Manchester) number will ring, and then another day after that, and on and on. I block each one as soon as they ring, but they just switch to a new one. Proper nuisance, it is.

I wasn’t quite sure who called, the bloke kept mumbling when I asked where he was ringing from and then rambled on about me supposedly being owed some PPI. He mentioned something about my info being on a ‘consumer credit database’ that shows I’m due some compensation. When I told him I wasn’t buying it, especially since I doubt any such database could lawfully exist under data protection laws, he quickly said he’d remove my details from his contact list. Really irritating, especially as I have no clue how they got my number in the first place.

I got a call from a guy who sounded Asian, and he wanted to speak to me using my maiden name. When I said no one by that name lived here, he oddly said I had a nice voice and asked what my name was. I quickly ended the call.

Got a call from this number, a woman with a strong Manchester accent kept calling me. She already had my name and my home address, which was creepy. She claimed I had a mortgage on my place (which is totally untrue) and said I was owed a PPI refund. I told her I never had any PPI, and since I work in Financial Services, I’m pretty sure there’s no refund for me. Still, she kept pushing that I had money waiting. I just ended the call and blocked the number right away. Proper frustrating!

Stay clear of this number, it's definitely those PPI scammers again. They switch between 3 or 4 numbers that look nearly the same to confuse you! Maybe just pick up and play along to waste their time and hopefully burn their money instead. Watch out tho, some of these calls can even put the charges on you, leaving a massive phone bill you’ll have to sort out.

Got a call from a lady who was using my previous address, claiming I was due a refund from some bank. I asked which bank it was, and she couldn’t reply. She kept asking loads of questions that made me wanna say "yes" automatically, like she was trying to catch me out and get personal info. She used my first name loads and kept saying she could speed things up with my refund. I ended the call eventually.

I got a call from a lady with a Mancunian accent on this number. She somehow knew my name and the old address where I lived. They’ll drop you from their list right away cos if you had an IVA, any money you're owed would’ve already been sorted by the company handling it.

This phone number seemed like it was from England, but the person speaking had really poor English. The only thing I could catch was something about credit cards, so I guess they were trying to sell me something and probably wanted my card details! I received a call moments ago claiming I owed money on a credit agreement. When I mentioned that's rather odd considering I never engage in credit transactions and settle all my bills with cash, the caller seemed a bit taken aback. I don’t have any debts and I even own my home outright. He muttered something about being sorry and promptly disconnected. Quite bizarre, really!

Spoke super quick so couldn’t really catch what he was on about selling. Kept mentioning stuff like “insurance” and “building society” now and then. Didn’t even bother to get my name right. Knew one of my previous addresses which was a bit creepy. Didn’t ask me anything properly, just ended the call and I blocked him straight away.

Got a call from a woman with a Mancunian accent, sounded like she was in a call centre. She knew my name and told me I had a refund from my bank. I told her I was certain I didn’t, then she just hung up. Reading other comments, this sounds like a scam. I’ve blocked the number now.

I've gotten like 12 missed calls from them. Only picked up once and some lady told me I'm bankrupt! I just hung up right away. 1. She was ringing from a mobile, 2. She used my nickname not my real name, and 3. I'm definitely not bankrupt. So frustrating!

No clue who this was but it sounded exactly like someone working in a hectic call centre. Picked up by mistake and as soon as I said "hello?", they just cut the call. I've blocked the number now.

I just got a call from a woman who talked super fast, said her name was something like Shirley, and claimed she was ringing from some PPI firm. She said my info had popped up on their system (yeah, right) and that it was about a loan that may have been missold. She asked if I knew what loan it was, maybe a mortgage, and if I remembered who it was with. I just laughed and replied, "do you honestly expect me to hand over that kinda info to someone I don’t even know?" Then I ended the call and blocked the number straight away.

Normally I ignore these calls since it's just a regular number, but this time I picked up and said, "Hello, Hampshire Constabulary child exploitation hotline." Nobody replied and the call just cut off. Quite amusing, really.

Got a call from someone about PPI at 8.25 this morning claiming I'd got £2741 to claim back from a "bank loan" I took out in 2007. Problem is, I've never taken out a loan with any bank. They also wanted my bank details which made me suspicious straight away. I just ended the call and blocked the number. Honestly, dont pick up if they call you.

They keep pestering me multiple times each day, and honestly, I'm at my wits' end with it. It's not just this particular number-I've had calls from various others all linked to the same company. Their relentless, aggressive approach is utterly appalling.

I'd avoid picking up this number. It popped up as a Manchester caller, and since I’ve been job hunting, I assumed it was a company ringing about my CV. Lately, I’ve been getting loads of these annoying calls. The bloke on the line was hardly making sense, speaking quickly and mumbling, with heaps of background noise. I told them straight if it was a scam, they should just stop pestering me. Then they had the nerve to say I was being rude and that they “wanted” to “help” me with my finances. Yeah, sure, like I believe that!
