I've been dealing with a company by the name of Intelling Ltd, and I've reached out to the DMA (Direct Marketing Association) to gather further details about them. They’re a marketing agency, and I’ve had quite a frustrating history with them. I used to receive an alarming 6 to 10 unsolicited calls daily, and whenever I requested to be taken off their contact list, they would abruptly hang up on me. Attempting to return their calls only results in an automated message, with no option to leave a voicemail. The first step I’d recommend is to register with the TPS (Telephone Preference Service): http://www.tpsonline.org.uk/tps/index.html. This will legally ensure that your number is removed from their marketing databases. Following that, you can lodge a formal complaint against Intelling Ltd with the ICO (Information Commissioner’s Office) via this link: http://www.ico.org.uk/complaints. I had a rather unpleasant experience with a chap who called from this number. He was incredibly abrasive and wouldn’t take no for an answer. Even after I explained numerous times that I had absolutely no interest in his broadband comparison spiel, he rudely told me to "shove off"! Quite astonishing, really!

Curiosity got the better of me, so I played along and fed them some fabrications about my internet provider and my current rates. Out of the blue, they brought up Talk Talk and promised I could cut down my expenses. I was quite taken aback and told them it was rather cheeky to masquerade as advisers when they were really just trying to sell me something. I’ve just had a rather vexatious chat with these folks. At first, the caller asserted that their outfit - which supposedly represents the National Broadband Service - was merely acting on behalf of Virgin Media. When I questioned her assertions, she transferred me to a supervisor who provided an entirely different story: they purport to have acquired my details from a 'survey' or an 'online form' and insist they have no ties with Virgin at all. It turns out this number belongs to Intelling Ltd., located at Southmoor House, Southmoor Road, Wythenshawe, Manchester, M23 9XD, United Kingdom. They’ve only been around since July 2012 and seem to be making quite the name for themselves, albeit one that’s rather dubious. Should you find yourself on the receiving end of their call, it's best to be pre-emptive and *cordially*: 1. Remind them that you’re aware of their true identity 2. Inform them you’re registered with the Telephone Preference Service and are not meant to receive such calls 3. Firmly request your details be deleted from their records instantly 4. Caution them that any further attempts to reach you will be reported to OFCOM. If they dare to call again, simply reiterate that you’ve asked them to cease contacting you and that, 2.
