Got a call from 0161 188 8888 about some accident claim. The bloke was really pushy and wouldn’t believe me when I said I hadn’t been in any accident - kept asking if I was certain! When I told them to take me off their list, they flat out refused. I asked them to stop calling and got shouted at instead. I ended up raising my voice and firmly saying no accident happened, then he finally said sorry for bothering me. Refused to answer any questions I had as well.

Got a call from this number today. The guy said he was Gladstone Brooks and talked about a PPI refund. He started asking really personal stuff about me. I played along for a bit, but after about 5 minutes I just couldn’t keep it up. I threw a few facts his way and called him out on it. It got dead quiet on the line, I could hear background noise so I knew he was still there but he didn’t say a thing, so I just ended the call.

these idiots seriously need sorting, like put up against the wall and sorted for good. whats crazy is how this society just leaks private info, like they’re getting it from somewhere - maybe insurance brokers or companies passing on your details. they have your phone number, name, age, and then pretend to be legit businesses. so what’s the deal, why do the so called authorities allow this? they do nothing to stop these muppets. who are they, where do they live? i’d like a house number and address so me and my mates can pay them a visit properly.

there might be some right strange folks, probably moonies or summat. i usually hit them with some really personal questions, like proper nosy stuff! they hate that, they get all awkward. so scammers, come on then, i’m ready. oh and by the way, who even pays for their phone contracts?

They've rung me about 10 times in less than a week, sometimes more than once a day. The number doesn’t show up, so I can't block it. They tell you not to ring back in their recorded message, probably because it’s dodgy. I’ve had to set my phone to do not disturb and only allow contacts through. Now they’re just leaving empty voicemails. This has got to be against the law, right???

I've had calls from this number four times over the past couple of days. Some robotic voice tells me to dial 01618882322 to take my name off their list. But when I check with 1471, it says the caller’s number is hidden, so I can’t block them using BT Call Protect! They pretend to be from MAC (Motoring Advice Centre). They called me earlier, trying to convince me MAC is some 'official' body, unlike other dodgy callers, and said I couldn't stop them phoning unless I made a claim. They’re not legit, they're just pests. Best to ignore them. If they ask you to wait, just say yes, then go make yourself a tea.

I received a rather aggressive call from someone claiming to be from MAC-though he couldn’t elaborate on what the acronym actually meant. He was shouting about a car accident, but his details were all wrong, except for the date which was accurate. To make matters worse, he persisted in calling back despite me hanging up on him. Definitely insurance con artists. I picked up once and told them to get lost. Sometimes I answer when I’m out and can’t properly check who’s calling, usually these scumbags. Strangely, he was already aware of my car’s make and mentioned my recent mishap, inquiring whether I’d managed to secure any compensation.
