I had an odd phone call from someone who seemed to already know my name and address. He claimed to represent a kitchen appliance company and was inquiring about the state of my appliances. When I pressed him for clarification, he specifically asked about my washing machine. I pointed out that a washing machine is merely one of many appliances. It was all so baffling, and I suggested he jot down his questions and post them to me instead. Before I knew it, he abruptly hung up!
