Last week, I got a call from this firm and felt a bit uneasy about how they got hold of my number, so I asked them to ring me again on Monday. When they did call back on Monday, I had a quick chat with someone for about five minutes and ended up arranging an appointment to have my stone property checked. Seeing the comments here made me a bit wary, but I decided to ring them after they left a missed call. Loads of people mention "scam" so I was on my guard, but they didn't ask me for anything personal, no bank info at all. It turned out to be just a standard check-up for cavity wall insulation. Sadly, I’m not eligible since my problem’s with the ceiling, not the walls. The lady I spoke to was really polite and explained it’s probably something to do with loft insulation instead. Sound advice, really.

Had a cavity wall insulation check done by some surveyor guy the other day. Turns out everything’s fine with mine, but they said if it wasn’t right, I could get some kind of compensation. Pretty lucky I guess! Seemed like a proper company too, didn’t try to charge me anything.

At first I was a bit worried since I had no clue how they got my phone number, but the person who called was really nice and said that since the company that handled my cavity wall insulation went bust, they’re carrying out some standard checks around Bradford. Apparently, loads of homes here - like over 5 million - have issues with damp and mould, and stone houses probably shouldn’t have had insulation put in the first place. I’ve arranged for a survey on Monday to see how the insulation holds up. I’ll let you all know what they find out.

Got a call earlier from an unknown number, and when I picked up, nobody said who they were on the answerphone! They’ve called me a few times before, claiming there might be damp in my loft insulation and that I could be owed loads of compensation. Whenever I try to ask them something, they just hang up. Seems like it’s one of those dodgy call centres from abroad.

Some bloke rang saying he was from the Hallwood Group and wanted to talk about cavity wall insulation problems. I've got loads of calls like this lately. They try to convince you there's damp in your walls and then offer to fix it - but you'd have to pay for it yourself. Feels like a dodgy way to get cash out of folks.
