I received a call yesterday claiming I had triumphed in a Tesco competition, with the prize being some free lines, and they promised to send me an email. The catch? I never entered any competition! Initially, I didn’t mention this to them, but then they started to pitch me a lottery syndicate, wanting around £30 a month for a block of lines. When I expressed my lack of interest, they promptly hung up. The call came through on my mobile, and I've since blocked the number. It’s frustrating, as I suspect these sharks won't cleanse my number from their records. I noticed they tried to reach me at 12:02, then again at 13:28 and once more at 17:38.

Then they tried to pitch selling loads of lottery lines each month. As soon as I refused, they hung up on me. Blocked the number and text, but they tried calling again at 13:28.
