I didn’t quite catch the name of the caller, but they claimed to possess ‘information from the government’ concerning alleged unpaid debts. While it’s possible there might be some truth to it, I was rather taken aback that it’s coming from some random company rather than the Revenue. I expect a proper correspondence from the Inland Revenue, not unsolicited calls trying to fish for my banking details! The chap on the line, Shaun, wouldn’t budge when I asked him to erase my information from their records. He also didn’t seem to grasp that I wasn’t at all keen on what he was peddling or waffling on about. Quite frustrating, really!
