I’ve had a slew of letters landing on my doormat, all pretending to be from a company called Quoteline Direct, asserting that I owe them a hefty sum of £133.51 for a car insurance policy I supposedly cancelled. The correspondence insisted I ring 0161 874 4173 with my credit card details to settle the amount. The catch is, I have no dealings whatsoever with Quoteline Direct. After reaching out to their official helpline, I was reassured that this was indeed a scam and that I needn't pay any mind to those letters at all.
