Got a call from someone pretending to be HMRC, total scam trying to trick me.

They rang me, so I asked what company they were from and for their contact number. I managed to find them on a credit check website and everything seemed legit. They’re not scammers or anything harmful, just incredibly irritating.

They keep ringing but just hang up as soon as you pick up - and if you try calling them back, you get left waiting on hold for ages before they finally say goodbye and cut off.

I just received a call from someone claiming they were attempting to secure a loan under my name using this number. When I mentioned that I was at a call centre working for a legal firm, he abruptly ended the conversation. Quite amusing, really!

I'm increasingly bombarded by calls of this nature. Whenever I pick up, there's just silence on the other end for what feels like an eternity-somewhere between 10 and 15 seconds-before they abruptly cut off. When I attempt to call back, I find that the number is blocked. It's happening far too frequently, and I'm really at my wit's end with it all!
