This same number has rung me several times. When I tried to ring back, it just went silent. I took part in a TV crossword contest last week, so it made me suspicious. Now I’m starting to reckon it’s a scam. Honestly, if it is, ITV and ITV3 need to take responsibility for letting this get advertised on their channels. The police ought to be notified about this.

Some chap called claiming I’d won a contest for a word search I supposedly took part in. Funny enough, I had actually sent in an entry to a TV puzzle show and he somehow knew the answer I gave. Then he started listing loads of prizes I’d supposedly bagged, but said I had to cough up £1.99 for postage first. That set off alarm bells right away. Pretty obvious it was a con. Told him there’s no way I’m paying £1.99, he can just deduct that and send me what’s left!

This number keeps ringing kids who are too young to use phones like that. It’s really wrong to keep bothering underage children.
