Today at 2:03 pm, during my son's school hours, he told me this number rang him. I attempted to ring back using his phone but got told to ring 101 instead. When I phoned 101, my call was declined. On looking at the message again, it mentioned something about a 999 call, though I checked the call history and there wasn’t any 999 dialled. Received three calls this morning from the number 0161 856 6300, but I wasn't able to pick up.

I got a call and before I even picked up, there was laughing in the background. I said hello but then hung up straight away. They called again but I ignored it. No voicemail or anything. I have nothing to do with Manchester Police and don’t live anywhere close by.

I received a call and as soon as I picked up, the line went dead. It really resembled the sound of a standard handset rather than that of an automated headset dialler. Quite puzzling, really!

First, they asked for someone who’s not even at this number. The next time they called, they said they were from Active Life Insurance. When I asked where they got my number from, the guy just said "It’s on my screen!" I told him I’m on the TPS list so they shouldn’t be ringing me, then I asked them their company name again and the bloke refused to say. Proper cheeky.

Some bloke rang saying he wanted to discuss upgrading my life insurance, I told him I wasn’t interested but he kept pushing and refused to remove me from their list. Honestly, I’m quite annoyed they’ve got my details in the first place, so I’m going to report them for pestering me.

I got a call from this number claiming to be from Greater Manchester Police. The person said it was a mistake, that they dialled the wrong number. They didn’t seem sorry at all. When I asked for some proof, they just told me to ring 101 and give them the 'civilian officer’s lapel number' so I could be put through to whoever called me by mistake. They wouldn’t say their name, just some lapel number instead.

It’s important to note that the line doesn’t take incoming calls, and they don’t leave any messages either. Definitely a genuine contact!
