Thought QTS was legit and told them no one got hurt, but then some idiot just hung up on me straight away. Did a quick online search and found out what they really are. Absolute rude jerks. Got a call from some bloke on 01618540052 saying he was from ATM’s insurance or something. He had my name and the car reg, which freaked me out a bit. He was really cheeky and rude too. Said they were from the insurance aftercare, but I wasn’t buying it and just ended the call. Proper scammers and con artists if you ask me!

Got a call on my phone from someone talking about a recent car crash. They even mentioned my insurance provider, which was a bit creepy. They started this tale about the other driver wanting to sue for ‘small pain’. I asked questions and they just hung up. This is just like other comments I’ve seen - I keep getting phone calls about a small crash my wife supposedly had, and they claim to be from an insurance firm. They call quite a bit, and there’s always a lot of noise in the background. Most times I pick up, they just hang up straightaway. I’ve nicely asked them to take my number off their list, but no luck so far. Does anyone know if I can file an official complaint with Ofcom or any other agency? Now, I’m even getting calls from a number that uses my local area code. This really needs to be dealt with urgently.

I’m so fed up with these calls! They keep ringing me, sometimes like four or five times a day, asking to talk to my husband about an accident in my car last month. Thing is, it’s my car and there was no accident at all, so I’m certain it’s not my insurance company. Feels like they’re just spamming loads of numbers hoping to catch someone who actually had a crash and then scam them. Sort of reminds me of those Dyson Hoover calls - I don’t even have one, but they keep phoning and saying they’ll take me off their list. It’s proper annoying!

While my car was parked in a Tesco car park, it got damaged when I wasn’t there. When I got back, obviously there was no sign of anyone who might have caused it. Since it’s a work car, I passed it over to the company’s insurer and they’re sorting the repairs out. Then today, I got a call from 1618544845 about the accident, someone said there was another party now claiming to feel unwell and complaining about it. I lost my temper because, honestly, no one else was there or admitted to hitting the car. What annoyed me most was the caller wouldn’t tell me his company’s name or any info so I could officially challenge it or report the call. Proper sketchy behaviour.

So, earlier today I got a phone call from these lot about a tiny scratch I got on my car more than a year ago. They told me the other person involved is saying they’re feeling ‘minor discomfort’ and that I should do the same because there’s some cash up for grabs. They already knew loads about me, like my full name, where I live, and even my car’s plate number. But the weird part is, they didn’t have any info on the other driver and actually asked me for their registration number. The whole thing felt really polished, like a call centre rather than a proper legal office.

This number seems to be one of several used by scammers operating out of Manchester. They usually use an automated system to dial out and when you pick up, most times there’s no one there because the scammers are tied up on other calls. Occasionally, a pushy and quite rude caller will come on, pretending to be from some insurance firm like 'QTS' and mention a recent car accident. They’ll say they know your name and car registration, throwing around info to sound convincing, but it’s just a phishing trick - all they really have is your name and reg. If you do end up chatting with someone, jot down the time and any info they give, don’t give away anything yourself, and ask to be taken off their list (won't work though, they keep pestering). Definitely report the number to the TPS.

Just wanted to add to what I said before - I’m not convinced that putting this number on the TPS list is wise. You have to give them your info, which they then pass on to whoever owns the number so they can check your complaint. But that means you’re actually handing over the very details the scammers wanted when they called, without even realising it!

Just like with what others have mentioned, they already had my car’s registration number and make. At first they claimed they were ringing from my insurance firm, but when I questioned them, they switched to saying they were following up on a survey from the other driver involved in the crash. Don’t give them any info, just shut the call down.

I’ve had these dodgy numbers from Manchester ringing me non-stop, even though I’ve blocked them before. They just pop up again with a new number every time. I don’t bother answering now, just see the Manchester dialling code and hang up right away. All this started after a small car bump almost a year ago, which I wasn’t even injured in - cheers to Admiral for apparently passing my info about. I’ve switched to another insurance company since then, hoping they won’t share my details with those ambulance chasing types.

I've had a really odd experience with this number. They rang me up and asked for me by my full name. Like a few folks here, I’ve gotten about 5 calls from this number saying they’re with QTS, maybe Quality Traffic Surveys or summat like that. They keep telling me they can assist with the “third party” involved in a crash. Thing is, my van driver ended up clipping a stone gate post, so I doubt there’s any third party to worry about. Had a very similar experience recently. The caller mentioned a motor accident claim supposedly from the 1st of November last year. When I corrected them saying it was actually a vandalism claim and no accident had happened, they immediately hung up without saying a word.
