This morning at 10:09, my landline buzzed but I let it go unanswered. I jotted down the number and just checked it out on this site. Turns out it’s just another dodgy Scam call. Nowadays, I only pick up if I know the number; otherwise, I just look it up here first. Most of the times, about 90%, it’s some kind of Scam. You’d have thought with all the tech we have now, these nuisance calls would be stopped by now. Really grateful for this ‘who-called-me’ tool!

Got a call from this number saying I could get a discount because I supposedly had no claims on my Sky gear. Problem is, I’ve never been a Sky customer. They asked for the last 3 digits on the back of my card after I already gave some info, which I refused. Since then, they’ve kept ringing non-stop. I’ve blocked them now but it’s been going on daily for more than two weeks. Feel like it’s just a scam, and even if it’s not, this is terrible way to do business. Fingers crossed they don't switch numbers and keep harassing me!

This morning at about 9:50, I got a call from a woman saying I'd missed making a claim for ages and now could get a discount. I've had similar calls quite a few times in the last couple of years. The first time, I told them I wasn’t interested in continuing the insurance. Every time after, I made it clear I don’t even have any coverage to reduce, and if I still do, I want it cancelled. Honestly, now I’m pretty certain these calls are either trying to sell me something dodgy or fishing for my payment info.

Wish I'd had something to jot down notes with, I'd have asked them straight up for the exact company name and their official Companies House number - every genuine business here in the UK should have that. Got a call from a Manchester number, they kept rabbiting about my satellite gear, claiming no issues and trying to pitch me some cut-price insurance. I received a phone call from this number, with the caller identifying himself as Daniel, claiming to represent Maintenance Contracts regarding my Sky box and related equipment. He mentioned that, as a long-standing customer, I could benefit from a reduction on my Direct Debit. Strangely, he made a wild guess about who I was paying, and to my bewilderment, he correctly stated the first four digits of my debit card. He then insisted on my providing the remaining digits, claiming that "by law" they were only entitled to the first four and that these numbers would ensure the safety of my transactions. Got a call on my BT phone from someone pretending to be from Sky about some warranty renewal. They wouldn’t say exactly who they were or how they were linked to Sky, so I just ended the call. Don’t understand why BT lets these scammers keep ringing through. Surely they should be looking out for us customers instead of turning a blind eye for their own gain. It’s high time BT started blocking calls like these.

Got a call from a woman with a Scottish accent, but the number showed up as from Manchester. She claimed to be from some national satellite company, talking about insurance for my satellite gear, which I actually have covered through Domestic and General. When I said I already have insurance, she said “I’m just trying to save you some money.” I told her straight up she wasn’t and that it sounded like a scam, then I ended the call.
