I was quite taken aback when I received calls from a number starting with 0161. They insisted on my personal information for "data protection" without even revealing the company's name. Each time I pressed for clarity, they became increasingly combative and rather impolite. It's particularly troubling for me, considering I have a family member in Manchester who's not in the best of health. The relentless nature of these calls is not only annoying but adds to the stress of an already difficult situation. It’s alarming how some companies operate without a hint of decency.

Was asked for personal info supposedly for data protection, but they wouldn't tell me which company they were from. They got into an argument and refused to admit they were calling hourly when I pressed them about it. Turns out it was QTS again - I've blocked them twice before on other Manchester numbers.

Got a call from a number that looked like it was based in Manchester, and the bloke on the other end definitely had an accent from that area. He was pretty vague about what company he was representing (wish I’d listened closer), but he was trying to get me to file a claim because apparently someone reversed into me. Thing is, I hadn’t had any accidents in over a decade, and if something happened it was fixed so well I didn’t even notice. I wasn’t having any of it though and gave him a right telling off, which seemed to rile him up a bit - he said "there’s no need to speak to me like that." I told him, yeah actually there is, because people like him are the reason my and everyone else’s insurance goes through the roof (I was a bit more blunt, to be honest). After letting him know exactly where to shove his claim, I just hung up. Probably won’t stop the calls, but it felt good to let him know what I thought.
