Got a really rude guy on the phone who started yelling at me just because I wouldn’t say who I was. Claimed he worked for some kind of money saving company. I get these annoying calls all the time even though I’ve never agreed to anything, never done any surveys, and I’m registered with the TPS. Told them to stop calling but it keeps happening. It’s just plain harassment, really.

I got the BT call guardian from Argos for £34 and it’s brilliant. It blocks all calls unless the number’s on your approved list. If someone isn’t on there, they have to say who they are before they get through. Then you can decide to pick up, send to voicemail or block them completely. Haven’t had any pesky calls since I started using it!

This evening, I got a call at my dad's place. He’s stuck in bed after a stroke and battling a serious illness. The voice on the other end was looking for my stepmum, who sadly passed away recently. When I asked where the caller was from, it quickly became clear this was one of those annoying sales calls. She kept insisting on speaking to my stepmum (I’d rather not say her name here), so I told her straight up that I wasn’t her and asked her to take the number off their list and not call again. She then said she’d ring back later if my stepmum wasn’t around. That annoyed me, so I shut the door to keep Dad from hearing and told her bluntly that she had died - I guess not the nicest way to say it but I thought she’d get the point from my tone. To my disbelief, she said again she would call back. Later, my husband answered the phone and firmly told the caller to never ring us again, but all he heard in response was her chuckling. So frustrating!
