I had a rather similar experience - the chap mentioned my address was xxxxxx. I responded, claiming I'd never shared that info with him, asking how he came by it. He claimed we had a chat last year, to which I rebutted, saying that wasn't the case and insisted on speaking to a supervisor... there was a lot of umming and ahhing on his part, to say the least!

After several days of their relentless ringing, I finally pressed them for the purpose of their calls. They informed me that I might be eligible for a claim amounting to £1,475 for every card I hold. They then requested my address to send out some correspondence. I mentioned I needed a moment to look into their legitimacy before making any decisions. They seemed to know my full name and claimed they were following up on a PPI discussion we supposedly had last year-although I can assure you that such a conversation never took place. Initially, I received a call from them regarding some loan I had previously taken out, claiming they could assist me. Just got a call telling me I had £2000 waiting for me. The person didn’t say who was supposedly giving me the money, and I didn’t stick around to find out what the catch was or how much it would cost me to claim it. I’ve blocked the number now, but this isn’t the first time I’ve had calls like this or blocked similar numbers. They probably have loads of different ones to keep ringing when you block one. Got a PPI call on a sailing club’s number! They tried pushing it as if it was about me.
