Yet another relentless con artist, supposedly representing Vodafone. Regrettably, I wasn't in possession of my whistle at the time!

Got a call from some unknown number claiming my bank account was charged £900 and telling me to "press one to get help". I looked at my account and there was nothing like that. Total rubbish. I’ve blocked the number and reported it straight away. Watch out for these scammers!

Today, at about 11:33, I got a call from this number saying there was a 900-pound charge on my Amazon visa card. They wanted me to complete some kind of form on my phone or computer, but I said no at both. I told them to send the information through the post so I can sort it with my credit provider and alert the police. Then, the line just went dead. Calls like this are really unsettling and stressing. I’m planning to stop all my online transactions now and report this to Action Fraud by texting the number 7266.

Got calls from this number twice today. I usually don't answer unless I know who it is, cos most unfamiliar calls tend to be scams. I never return these calls either. If it’s important, they’ll drop a voicemail. Also, if you get any dodgy texts, forward them to 7726.

Had a call from some people claiming to be from a company wanting my bank info, but do NOT trust anything they say, they're just trying to scam you. The company names they give are fake, no real business behind it. If we all just block or ignore, they can't steal any cash. They hide their real number for a reason, so if the number begins with +44, it’s likely a robocall, not a regular landline. Make sure to report these scams to phishing.gov.uk or text DALL to 7726. Stay safe and don’t fall for it!

I had a look for life is a scam and saw a warning on the FCA website telling people it’s not a licensed company. They said don’t get involved with them cause it’s just a scam. Pretty dodgy if you ask me.

Who owns this number? AQL Wholesale Ltd seems to be behind it. They’re apparently a company that deals with phone numbers, but mostly they sell them on to scammers for ripping people off. They distribute both mobile and landline numbers, and then hand out lists of live numbers for scammers to ring up. So, if you get a call from a VoIP number they sold, it means your number’s probably on one of their target lists.

A few days back I got a call from a number up in Northern Ireland. The caller said her name was Angelina and mentioned something about Indians. I rang the number again later but now it’s blocked! She kept saying she was from a mobile network, but it definitely wasn’t the provider I use.

I got a call that seemed to come through the internet from somewhere like India or Pakistan, sounded like a proper bank scam. I just blocked it straight away and sent a text saying "call" to 7726 to report it. Definitely do the same if you get a call like that!

After telling her to quit, a woman named ‘Lisa’ who claimed to be from ‘Insurance Review’ kept ringing me from various numbers. Honestly, it was really annoying and felt quite harrassing.

I received a rather dubious call from a woman claiming she was representing a life insurance firm, stating that I had an existing policy that required attention. When I requested that any correspondence be sent to me via post, she insisted on discussing my details over the phone. Eventually, she disconnected the call. Quite fishy, if you ask me!

Got calls from some dodgy numbers lately: +44 1422 401307, +44 161 850 9244, and +44 1707 830822. All said they were from this fake firm called Policy Direct. As soon as I told the first one to jog on, more rang within minutes. Blocked every single one straight away. Looks like a proper little scam operation.

Absolute con artists! They claimed to have secured £2,550 in compensation from my so-called bank, plus an interest of £1,550. When I enquired about the name of my bank, I jokingly mentioned "the Bank of Paris" - which is a complete figment of my imagination - and they didn’t bat an eyelid! After this, they gave me a reference number and an ID number, assuring me that they never request bank or card information, but somehow the money was in a "wallet"? They then connected me to another chap with an Asian accent, who asked for the ID and reference numbers, which I just made up. He looked rather puzzled and then asked for my phone number to "verify" the details. After a bit more back and forth, he provided me with new numbers, which were completely different from the first set! He started making silly remarks about me not being tech-savvy and offered to assist me in accessing this so-called wallet. Out of the blue, he instructs me to switch my phone to loudspeaker (why on earth?!), and to navigate to the app store to install something called Anydesk. It became abundantly clear he planned to hijack my phone remotely to swipe my banking info, identities, and all sorts of sensitive details! This lot are just shameless - they need to be brought to justice! Please, do report these scoundrels to the police and the Financial Conduct Authority.

Beware of those callers purporting to be from some organisation seeking your bank information-there's a good chance they’re nothing but con artists! Do not trust a word that spills from their mouths; it’s all a ruse to part you from your hard-earned cash. In fact, it’s quite likely that these blokes don’t even represent a legitimate company at all. The best tactic is simply to ignore their calls altogether; if no one engages with them, they'll be left twiddling their thumbs. If you happen to receive a call beginning with +44, know that it’s highly unlikely to be from a proper landline-more often than not, it's some sort of automated scam. And please, do your part by reporting any fraudulent attempts you encounter to phishing.gov.uk, or simply text ‘dall’ to 7726. Stay vigilant!

Had a call a few days back from a number in Northern Ireland. The person on the other end introduced herself as Angelina, claimed to be from a mobile network that I don't even use. I decided to call back later in the day, but now I’ve blocked the number! Just so dodgy!

I received a call from this number at precisely 11:33 this morning, claiming that there was a £900 transaction request linked to my Amazon Visa card. They insisted I complete a form on my device, whether it be a computer or mobile, but I firmly refused both. Instead, I asked them to provide the information in writing so I could properly address it with my credit card provider and report it to the authorities. However, the call abruptly cut off. It’s quite alarming to receive such calls, and they should certainly be addressed. As a precaution, I've decided to cease all online activities, report this to Action Fraud, and send a text to 7266.

If we want to put an end to all those pesky scam calls and dodgy messages, it’s vital that we take action: REPORT THEM! Any scam emails or screenshots of dodgy communications should be sent over to '[email protected]'. Additionally, if you've received any scammy texts, you can forward them to '7726'. Do keep in mind that clicking on scam links might unleash malware onto your device. For scam calls, simply text CALL to '7726' with all the details, including the number, to raise awareness across your phone provider's network. And do speak to your local MP about these scams! If you’ve inadvertently shared any banking details with scammers, contact your bank straight away. Then, report it to 'action fraud', follow that with '7726', and consider sharing your experience here too. For further guidance on scams, just look up 'action fraud' online or check out the 'police.uk' website and navigate through their resources. And for the love of all things sensible, NEVER ring back numbers you don’t recognise! Anon 13

AQL Wholesale Limited, you say? It’s a shady outfit, if you ask me. It appears they peddle phone numbers primarily to nefarious types looking to swindle others. They’ve got a stash of both landline and mobile numbers, and apparently, they hand out a catalogue of live contacts for these crooks to ring. So, if you find yourself on the receiving end of a call from a VoIP number linked to them, chances are you've been added to that rather dodgy directory!
