Got a call from this number earlier, it was some auto message claiming to be HMRC warning me about fraud linked to my name. They wanted me to ‘press 1’ to find out more but I just ended the call. HMRC have my postal address anyway, they’d send a letter if there was an issue. Honestly, these scammers should stop bothering honest folks and maybe get a proper job paying taxes instead!

Got a call from someone claiming to be HMRC sayin there’s a warrant for my arrest. They asked if I had a criminal lawyer lined up cos I’d need one for the court. They kept going on about having proof that I’d done something dodgy with my taxes. I freaked out, started yelling at the lady on the phone, and then she just ended the call on me. Definitely a scam!

Got a voicemail claiming that HMRC is looking into me. I know it’s gotta be fake since I was with the Inland Revenue for more than 40 years, and they would never contact people like that. Just got off the phone with HMRC and they told me it’s definitely a scam call. They said they’re looking into it and working with the police to track down where the number’s coming from. I was told that if it was anything official, they’d send a letter in the post, not call you up. So yeah, best thing to do is just hang up and don’t bother answering next time.

Got a call this morning around 10:10 and honestly, it was so obviously a load of rubbish I just laughed it off. Might not be the same story for others though.

Got a robocall claiming it was HMRC and they were suing me, telling me to hit 1 to talk to the Case Handler. After pressing 1, I ended up speaking to a woman with an Asian accent and loads of background noise. She asked me for my number, and when I mentioned it sounded dodgy, she just told me to shut up and then ended the call. Proper scam if you ask me.

Like loads of others, I got a call claiming HMRC is suing me or something like that. I just ended the call and plan to notify HMRC about the number. If you search 'report HMRC scam calls' on Google, you'll find a site with an email to report it. Everyone should let them know so they can take action. For anyone thinking it might be real, it’s definitely not - HMRC would send a proper letter if there was any problem.

I got a call from a robotic female voice saying HMRC were taking legal action against me and to press 1 to talk to my case officer. Since they didn’t call me by name, I figured it was a scam. I’ve had around three of these calls now, the latest one just yesterday. It makes me wonder what might’ve happened if I’d actually pressed 1 - would they have tried to get my bank info? I thought if it were legit HMRC, they’d send a proper letter first, but honestly, the calls still gave me a bit of a scare just in case they were real.
