The best way to deal with annoying callers is to keep them on the line and waste their time. I usually pretend to be interested in whatever scam they’re selling, maybe say I need to grab my bank info or something similar, then just leave them waiting. If they stick around for like twenty minutes, I end with a polite “I’ve just wasted your time on purpose.” They really can’t stand that! Plus, it costs the company money without them getting anything from it.

A caller was looking for Mr. Nelson (which isn’t me, FYI). He said sorry and wanted to know who he’d reached, so I told him he’s got the wrong number and ought to remove it from their list. Ended up blocking him.

Loads of others have said this too, about funerals and stuff, but I was genuinely taken aback when I told him I wasn’t interested. He reckoned he wouldn’t be bothered once I’m gone, but maybe my family would be. I told him off for speaking to me like that and told him never to ring me again. A guy with a British accent rang and said he was from Future Planning. He kicked off by saying my name and asked, "How are you today?". I told him straight but politely that I wasn’t interested and I’m fed up with all these unwanted calls. Then I hung up. This number has called me loads before but I usually ignore it. 01618506170 - This bloke with an Asian accent kept calling me ma’am on the phone. He was asking if I’d seen some TV segment about funeral expenses earlier today. I told him I wasn’t planning on croaking anytime soon but he just kept cutting me off. Eventually, I had to shout “LISTEN” at him cos he wouldn’t stop going on. I tried to be polite, knowing some folk only get rubbish jobs and have families to look after, but when a stranger rings, I don’t expect to be talked over when I’m clearly saying I’m not interested, which I had to make very clear.

Got a call from a bloke named David claiming to be from the 'Future Planning Association'. Said it was some Government thing about Funeral Plans. I asked straight up, “Are you selling funeral plans then?” He said no, he's an adviser. Asked him for his company's FCA registration number, but he didn’t have it to hand. Told him to find it and ring me back later! Seems a bit dodgy to me.

This number has been calling me loads. Since it’s coming to my mobile and I have no idea who it is, I just ignore it. It’s really irritating!

I’ve had this number ring me like 10 times in the past few weeks. I don’t even pick up unless it’s someone I know. I only just got my phone back today after losing it, so they’ve been leaving missed calls for quite a while now. If anyone can find out who these people are, please ask them to quit bothering me and wasting both our time.

There's a big push going on right now to get folks to sort out their funeral plans. It's all about making sure everyone has some kind of coverage for when the time comes. Seems like a good idea, considering how expensive funerals can get these days. Better safe than sorry, right?

I got a call from this number, answered it but there was total silence on the other end. Then they just hung up without saying a word.

Spoke with a couple of people from this firm today. Told them straight up to take my phone number off their list since I’m not interested in life insurance or funeral plans. I even threw in a Martin Lewis quote. Despite saying no and not wanting to talk, they kept pushing. Ended up blocking their number!

Got a call that took ages to connect, then they started their usual scam talk... I just ended the call. Really wish there was a way to block these numbers on the work phone!

Got calls from someone pushing life insurance and funeral cover. I said I’m all sorted, don’t bother ringing again. Yet they kept calling me over and over! I blocked the number straight after the first call, so now it just shows up in my missed calls list - lucky that. Honestly, I wouldn’t answer if that number rings you. There seriously ought to be a proper law to stop cold calls like this - it’s so annoying!!!
