Got a call from 01618506018 today and the voice said something about HMRC and a court case against me. They urged me to ring them back but spoke so quickly I couldn't catch the number properly. Pretty clear it's a scam though, HMRC always send letters through the post, they don’t do calls like that.

Picked up the phone and this robotic voice claimed there’s a legal claim from HMRC against me. They wanted me to contact some case manager or call a number starting with 0202, but it was said so quickly I couldn’t get it right. When I dialled 1471, it showed the number as 01618506018?? which seemed odd. I doubt HMRC would handle things like this over a call, they’d normally send a letter, and I've never dealt with anything to do with customs. Feels like a scam to me.

I received a rather alarming voicemail claiming there’s a legal case linked to my name and urging me to call the number provided. I have no intention of doing so! Just a heads-up to everyone-watch out for these scams!
