Many users find them rude, persistent, and misleading, with some saying they falsely claim links to official valuation offices. Several warn of scams, name changes, and aggressive tactics when refused. However, a minority describe polite, helpful staff offering advice on reducing business rates, and some even book appointments. I got a call about some business rates and it felt a bit dodgy, sounded like one of those scams to me.

I inquired about the pricing of our services, but the person on the other end was quite abrupt and hung up on me!

Got two calls from them, both times they were really pushy and quite rude. The first time, they talked about business rates but when I didn’t give them the info they wanted, they hung up. The second call was even stranger - when I asked more about it, they just said they couldn’t share details because of GDPR or something. Total waste of time.

Got a call out of the blue about business rates, sounded like a typical cold call.

total scam, watch out!

Absolute muppet! He just kept going on even after I said I wasn’t bothered.

Got a call from some girl named Beth who said she needed to talk to the managing director about something to do with the valuations office and said it was urgent. I wasn’t interested at all and just ended it.

I got a random call claiming they were from the valuation office but that was a total lie. I read somewhere that they trick folks into coughing up thousands, then keep bugging them to pay even more. They seem really shady. From what I gather, the boss has a violent past, got banned from running businesses, and then started more companies that all ended up shutting down after a short time. Definitely not to be trusted.

I got a call about lowering my council rates but the company kept switching names - I think it’s because folks kept leaving bad reviews about them. Definitely feels like a scam.

Total rip off, watch out!

Got a call out of the blue from a company asking for the director by name. They were trying to pitch some service about lowering our property tax and rateable value. We've never come across them before, so seemed a bit random and unsolicited.

Got a call about setting up some sort of survey on business rates, felt a bit dodgy to me. Pretty sure it was one of those scam calls.

Got a call from someone claiming to be Nina at RVE, asking for the Directors and mentioning something about "property tax". Totally unwanted and quite annoying.

Got a call out of the blue from some Rateable Value Experts. They were asking for a director specifically. Never asked for anything from these lot and we're already on the TPS list. Quite annoying really.

This bloke from RVE kept hassling me, insisting on speaking with the directors of our firm. Once I told him no, he started getting a bit rude.

Even though we’re on the TPS list, this dodgy lot couldn’t care less. They kept ringing up, asking to speak with a director about our business rates. Rateable Value Experts? More like a pain!

Got a guy who kept pushing to chat with the managing director - obviously just a sales call trying to get through.

Got a call today, they asked for me by name, probably got it off Companies House or somewhere. They were talking about "reassessing the property tax" or something like that. We’re on the TPS list, so I’m not sure why they're trying to ring us at all.

Really persistent bloke, kept insisting he needed to talk to the directors. Said he could knock thousands off the company’s property tax bill. When I told him I couldn’t connect him, he got a bit moody and said he knew tricks to get past gatekeepers. I said I’d make sure someone passed the message on just to end the call, then asked for an email contact. He ended up yelling across the room ‘cause he didn’t even know his own email address.

I got called by these Rateable Value Experts trying to push a rates reduction for my business. They were really unpleasant and kept being quite condescending. Honestly, don’t bother picking up if they ring you. Such a waste of time.

So I answered and told them we’re on the TPS list, and this guy Andrew suddenly got quite aggressive. I told him we weren’t interested, but he kept pushing and then threatened he’d report us to the valuation office. Thing is, it’s just a private firm, not anything to do with the valuation office at all.

Just wanted to warn everyone, these people are definitely not from the Valuation Office, they’re some private firm. I rang them up myself to check and they admitted it. Don’t let them bully you or push you around. Honestly, they messed with the wrong person when they tried calling me.

Just got off the phone with them again and turns out they're a private company, not the Valuation Office as they claimed. Don't let them push you around, they tried a bit of pressure on me but picked the wrong person to mess with! Definitely watch out for that.

Had a call from these 'Ratable Value' so-called experts. They try to charge you for lowering your business rates, something you could easily handle on your own. When I kept telling them I wasn’t interested, the caller got a bit rude and ended the call threatening to report us to some government agency... total nonsense. Also, don’t trust the glowing reviews - looks like they’ve just written them themselves.

They were just a company trying to assist with lowering business rates, nothing too intense. The staff came across as really kind and they never pressured me at all.

I received a call from this number, which turned out to belong to RVE (Rateable Value Experts). They approached me regarding our billing rates, and I must say, the individual on the line was quite charming and courteous. Their discussion revolved around business rates; however, I found it rather amusing since I don’t operate a business at all! The caller was very gracious and conveyed their thanks for my patience with the mix-up.

Got a call about business rates, and honestly, the folks on the other end were really nice and quite normal - not like some of the annoying callers you sometimes get. They gave me good info, and I’m thinking about actually doing something with what they said. Free advice, might as well listen!

Had a call from RVE, think it stands for Rateable Value Experts, about disputing our rates. We're on the TPS list, so this feels pretty dodgy and not a legit company at all.
