This isn’t a scam. I got a text saying something like 'your dental referral URN is **********, you can check your referral status by typing 'urn.name' into your browser'. At first I thought it might be dodgy, but I was actually expecting a dental referral update. I went online and found out it’s legit. You can head to https://www.dental-referrals.org/patients/ and put in your URN from the text to see where your referral’s up to. If you haven’t been referred to a dentist, maybe they just mixed up the number, but it seems genuine to me.

Honestly, this isn’t some kind of scam. I actually checked this site to find out about my son’s NHS dentist appointment, and it did exactly what the message said it’d do.

It’s not one of those scams. When your dentist sends through a referral, you get a text. If you punch urn.name into your web browser, it’ll take you to a site where you can pop in the reference number and track the status of your referral.

Got a message at 2:25pm on 10/01/2018 saying something like:
“Your NHS dental referral reference number is..... you can check your referral status by going to urn.name in your browser.”
It seemed suspicious so I looked up the number online and turns out it’s a scam.
