Got a call with a recorded voice telling me to press one because apparently I've done tax fraud, and if I don't press it, the police would come to arrest me! The whole thing was automated and only lasted about half a minute. I just ended the call straight away, but I can imagine how frightening that must be for someone who isn’t as savvy. Sounds like one of those classic HMRC robocall scams again. I bet this number's been faked to ring loads of people, tricking them. If even one person falls for it, they could drain their whole bank account and make a killing! Proper dodgy lot. Got a call around 4:37pm on Saturday the 10th of March. The voice was clearly a woman, sounded just like those announcements you hear in public places, saying she was from HMRC and that I should press 1 to hear about some legal action against me. Didn’t press a thing, luckily. I’ve blocked that number now so they can’t ring again. When HMRC actually called me for real, their number was hidden anyway, which is why I've started blocking all calls with no caller ID. Makes sense to be safe.
