This afternoon, we submitted an application for a Vanquis credit card. Shortly after, I received a text message urging me to call regarding my application. Assuming it was Vanquis, I dialled in, only to discover it was Horizon Finance on the other end! They insisted I call a premium-rate number that charges £1.53 per minute, and wouldn’t you know it, I ended up on the phone for a frustrating fifteen minutes! I’m absolutely appalled-this practice should be outlawed! I can’t wait to see the bill and will definitely be seeking to reclaim those charges. Honestly, what a load of rubbish!

This number is rather suspect. Vanquish only operates with 0870 numbers, as clearly outlined in their terms and conditions!

Received a text that said, "Hello Tracy, could you give 0161 a bell?" Now, for starters, I’m not Tracy, and we’ve not dialled that number. We haven't applied for any credit cards or anything of the sort, so I’m inclined to think it’s just a scam.

Indeed, we received a call from this company, and naturally, we figured it was Vanquis. Foolishly, we ended up dialling the number, which charged us a whopping £1.53 per minute! Throughout the conversation, they asked a barrage of pointless questions (apologies for the dodgy spelling!). By the time we wrapped up the call, they handed us yet another reference number along with a different 09000 number to ring back in an hour for information about potential lenders willing to issue a card. There's no chance we'll be calling that number again. A word of caution to everyone-steer clear of these deceitful chancers!

I recently received a text and, seeing as we’ve been swindled time and again, we tend to investigate here first. Like many of you, we put in an application for a Vanquis credit card but were turned down because it was too soon-only six months since our last try. So, the arrival of this message struck us as rather strange. However, we won't be ringing them up!

I received a text message that said, "Hello Tracy, please call 0161..." First off, I'm not Tracy, and I haven't attempted to contact that number. My partner and I haven't submitted any credit applications or anything of that nature, so we're assuming it's just a scam.
