Never got a call from this number, but I did get an email that had their phone number, email, and website listed. They claimed I was owed a tax refund of £1250, but wanted me to send my personal info. I said no way and just deleted the email straight away.

Got a call from the same mobile number that’s been mentioned here a few times, about some supposed Marriage Allowance tax refund. I knew right away it was dodgy and just hung up on them. Then, about 5 minutes later, I got an email with these contact details: Phone: 01618502025 | Email: [email protected] | Website https://taxrefundteam[.]co[.]uk/ I deleted the email straightaway. BE WARNED, it’s a scam!

Got a call earlier from someone named Leon Davies, sounded South African. He said that one of us supposedly had an online tax investigation a while back and might get £1250 back from HMRC. What creeped me out was that he had our address, birthdays, my wife’s email and even the date we got married. That felt a bit off. He asked for our National Insurance numbers and wanted us to sign an email. Claimed the payment would arrive in 4-6 weeks. Pretty sure it’s a scam, but honestly, it sounded pretty believable.

Someone called me claiming I’d been approved for some kind of marriage benefit and that I’d get a refund over £1,200 within about 6 to 8 weeks. Got a call from 0161 850 2025, but honestly had no clue why they were ringing me. The bloke said I was due £1000 from some bank ages ago. When I asked which bank, he couldn’t give me a proper name. I asked for his email and he said it was refund@help your tax.co.u.k, which seemed odd. Told him the email didn’t mention his name, and then he gave me a company name that looked dodgy as hell. I just ended the call right away.

So, today I got a call from these folks saying we were due £1,200 as some sort of marriage allowance. They seemed to know loads about us, which was a bit creepy - no idea how they got hold of that info. They kept asking for personal stuff to check if we were the right people for the payout. On 20th March 2023, this same number called me again, even though I had blocked it after loads of previous calls. Somehow it still got through, but I usually don’t pick up any calls on EE unless I look up the number first. That day alone, I had two more scam calls from fraudsters on the same network.
