Got a call from this number. The person claimed to be from a firm working on home heating and mentioned some project with the University of Huddersfield, probably trying to sound legit. I reckon they were looking to book an appointment with a so-called “consultant.” I always assume if a company cold-calls a number that’s on the TPS, it’s dodgy. I’ve had quite a few calls from similar numbers about different things before - like compensation claims for hearing damage and stuff.

This number just rang me, but I never bother answering anymore. Worst thing you can do really, because it just lets them know your number is real and then it gets passed around to every spammer and scammer out there. That’s probably why you get nothing but silence if you do answer. I just let it ring out until whoever’s calling gives up and hangs up. Then I dial 1471 to check who called me. A quick Google search usually shows you exactly which kind of scammer or annoying telemarketer tried their luck. For me, at least 95% of my calls are like this. Honestly, I dream of a day when all these pointless pests get beamed off to some distant, deserted planet where they can’t bother anyone anymore. Caller ID: unknown.

They had called twice within an hour! They asked if I was Mrs so & so, and I said yes, hoping to put an end to it, but then “he” just hung up on me.
