3 yearsSomeone rang me claiming to be from a solar panel firm.3 yearsGot a call from 01618438655 about some “free” discount card that was supposed to help with bills. Turns out it would charge me £1.99 every month. Nah, I’m good without that.3 yearsWell, to put it simply, the woman on the other end was rather talkative and attempted to come across as amiable. She mentioned that I was eligible for a £40 voucher redeemable at around 7,000 different outlets. The only catch was that I had to fork out £1.99 for postage and packaging. I promptly declined to pay the £1.99. When she insisted it was for Royal Mail, I proposed that she just send the package without any postage, and I’d collect it in person, settling up with Royal Mail myself. She continued to query my reasoning behind that suggestion, and I made it clear that I suspected it was all a ruse. At that point, she hung up on me.Royal Mail3 yearsThey say they're from Supercard, but if it was real, they’d probably bother with registering on the TPS. Most likely, it’s just another scam trying to catch you out.Telephone Preference Service3 yearsI rang up to inquire about the expenses related to my energy bills, and they've mentioned that I might get £40 refunded to help with those costs.3 yearsThis person said they were from an energy firm, offering government rebates. When I asked them to say which energy company I was with, they said they couldn’t because of GDPR rules. Then, after I kept asking, they just got annoyed and cut the call.3 yearsThe call quality was awful, really scratchy on the line. It was some call centre, kept trying to talk to someone who's actually passed away. They said they could help me save some cash or something. Didn't stick around, just blocked them straight away.3 yearsGot a random call from an unknown number saying they could sort out a £40,000 tax rebate on our energy bills. Totally sketchy and clearly a scam.3 yearsI rang the number and got the voicemail.
