Then they tried to sweeten the deal with a discount because I hadn’t made a claim in 8 months. But then, out of nowhere, they asked for my bank details. I told them straight up I’d never hand over banking info to a stranger on the phone. Called it a scam and ended the call. Who knows where they got my info from!

They ring from different numbers but it’s almost always about the same cover, as I’ve checked on this site. Nearly all the reviews on those numbers are bad too.

Got a call about my boiler cover needing renewing. When I asked who was calling, they said “Nationwide insurance”. I’d never come across that name before, so I was pretty sure it was dodgy. I told them it wasn’t right, and they asked what I meant. I just said it again and then ended the call.

I missed the name of the firm, but the caller claimed since we hadn’t signed up yet, we could get a 35% discount on our boiler cover. They knew our last name and postcode, which was a bit suspicious. The person had an Indian accent. When they asked for my bank details, I ended the call straight away. Surely the company we already use has all that info. I’ve blocked the number now.
