Honestly, this kind of call is pointless whether it’s for work or personal reasons. I’m left wondering what’s the point of these weird calls at all.

Got a call from someone saying they were with 118 Online Business Directory and that they were calling from some place in South East Asia. Our number is on the TPS list, so we really shouldn't be getting calls like this. Just really irritating, to be honest.

This seemed really dodgy to me.

There was a lot of background chatter like a call centre on the line. They wanted to talk to the owner of the business, which I refused. Then they asked if I was the person responsible for financial matters at the company, to which I replied, "That depends on what it's regarding." Next, they asked if the company name I used 12 years ago was accurate. I responded with "No, cheers, and please don’t ring back."
