To which this individual shot back, 'Well, when on earth will she be back then?' I tried to clarify that she often spends long hours away from the office and suggested I could take down a message for someone to return the call to assist with his queries. Instead, he abruptly hung up on me! They certainly made it sound like it was an urgent situation, as if it were a dire emergency!11 yearsI rang them hoping to speak with the Managing Director, but was met with the standard reply: "I’m afraid she’s not in at the moment; would you like to leave a message?" Instead of accepting that, the bloke pressed on, "When exactly WILL she be back?" I tried to explain that she’s often away from her desk, and suggested again that I could take a message so someone could return his call and assist him with his questions.
