Got a call from someone saying they were a police officer named Rachel, using a weird automated American accent, supposed to be from HMRC. They said I or my solicitor had to ring them back or I'd get into serious trouble with the law. Total rubbish, really dodgy stuff. This kind of thing is especially nasty since older or vulnerable folks might easily be tricked by it.

01618269533 - total waste of time. They call from lines where it's impossible to hear anything with all the background noise. I just say to them to bugger off and hang up every time. I never claimed PPI, never had an accident, and definitely don't want any more insurance. It's a right disgrace because when you try to get an insurance quote online, they won't give you one without your info. Then these details probably get handed over to these muppets who just keep pestering you. They really wind me up and raise my blood pressure.

If they’re footing the bill, why not keep chatting if you’re bored? When you’ve had your fill just say something like 'Have I mentioned I'm just messing about?' and hang up. Another trick I use is replying to every question with ‘potato’. They usually hang up quickly, even if they get miffed, but I keep saying potato in my head. It’s hilarious how annoyed they get!

Got a call from this number but I didn’t pick up as my phone flagged it as "suspected fraud". Loads of these calls seem to come from 0161, which is the Manchester area. I avoid answering any calls that start with that code now.

Someone rang looking for my late husband who died 4 years ago. When I asked why they still had his info after all this time and why it hadn’t been removed under GDPR rules, they got really rude. They accused me of putting his details online, which I definitely havent. Going to report this to the ICO for sure.
