Totally a scam - they ask for cash saying you owe them, but never give any real proof. This really ought to be something for the police to look into, though they’re probably already overwhelmed. Unfortunately, it’s usually the most vulnerable folks who end up getting caught out by this.

Received a call from someone inquiring about Mrs Thomas. I informed them that there’s no one here by that name. Then, rather surprisingly, they requested to speak to the owner of the phone. This really ticked me off, so I pointed out that if they truly needed the owner of the number they dialled, they should already have my name. After that, they abruptly disconnected, and it looks like this could be a potential scam.

I’ve no debts at all, so it was a shock when someone rang saying they were from the National Debt Solution team, claiming it was a government body. They even said they got my number from some Debt Resolution Forum - yeah, right! I played along and kept them talking for about 10 minutes before they finally gave up and ended the call. Give it a go yourself, see if you can keep them chatting longer and maybe stop them from annoying others who might actually be vulnerable!

This number rang me 3 times over 2 days. The caller was saying something about my unsecured debts being possibly wiped out with some sort of IVA plan, though he didn't mention it by name. He said I owed money on a credit card and a small loan - which is true. When I asked where he got the info from, he mentioned some debt help firm but refused to say which one. HOW DID HE FIND OUT ABOUT MY DEBTS? It feels really invasive and a bit creepy. Just got another call from them!
