Cheers everyone, ive set my phone so only numbers in my contacts ring through - telemarketers and service providers all blocked. Offcom and the tech companies should really put scam detection built in, with a proper verified list of legit numbers and ones that are outdated automatically blocked. Loads needs sorting out but the root cause is the mess, theres not much we can do and police have limited powers, just follow laws that dont really help here. Something’s gotta give and fast.

Got a call from someone saying he was "Sam Anderson" from a Life Insurance firm, but I’m sure that’s a fake name. He kept saying I’m paying for some life insurance monthly, which isn’t true at all. Felt like a total scam to me! I told him to take me off their contact list, and he started questioning why and trying to convince me otherwise. I just ended the call and blocked the number straight away.

I picked up mum’s phone and got a really confusing call from some call centre, they were asking for my dad by his name about life insurance stuff. This happened on the afternoon of Tuesday 6th December 2022. What’s awful is my dad had actually just passed away in a care home that same lunchtime!

They already had my name and phone number, and when I asked how they got my info, they said it was because I looked online for insurance stuff like car and home.
