Hi, I got a missed call claiming to be from Legal & General. When I called back, it took ages to get through - about 10 seconds or so - then a guy picked up and already knew my name! Honestly, it freaked me out because it seems like they’ve got my number and personal details saved somewhere. Isn't that a breach of GDPR? Can anyone check this out? I ended up just hanging up straight away.

Got a call claiming to be from the Dept of Work and Pensions. Got a few of these calls, total scam for sure. They wanted my personal details but already had my name, address and DoB. When I checked the number, turns out it’s been cancelled for breaking the rules. Also found out it wasn’t even a mobile number and might have come from abroad, not the UK.

I got a call from an Asian woman who already knew my first name and started saying I’d won a holiday worth £2000. I’d never signed up for any raffle or contest, so I just said there’s no such thing as a free prize and I wasn’t interested in getting caught up in any dodgy scheme.

So this number, 01618206635, rang up asking for my grandad, wanted to know if we’d got a letter from them. I told her no, and she said she was from the DWP, warning about some fraud with his pension. I didn’t let her talk to him as I suspected it was a scam and said we’d wait for the letter to sort it out. She kept insisting to speak to him, but I said no again. Then she called me an arsehole and just ended the call. She sounded Indian and gave the name “Chloe”.

They said they already have my bank details but need my card expiry to renew the insurance. They also said there’s a big discount since I supposedly paid last August, but I can’t find any record of that payment anywhere. Honestly, don’t fall for it, they’re definitely dodgy. Plus, if you try to call them back, the number just doesn’t go through. Total scam!

Interestingly, I do hold a policy with them, but it's only for one specific appliance. The caller was rather persuasive and persistent, yet when I asked for my policy number, she couldn't provide it. She did have my address, which made the whole conversation even more dubious. Ultimately, she ended the call when I pressed her for more information regarding my policy.
