I received a rather dodgy phone call from a woman with an Asian accent who attempted to convince me to renew the warranty on my washing machine. It felt very much like a phishing scheme!

I never pick up calls from numbers I don’t know and they didn’t even leave a voicemail. Saw some missed calls on my phone from this same number, so I tried to look up info about it before calling back, but couldn’t find anything at all. Seems like it might be a call centre from abroad, maybe India? Has anyone actually picked up when they called? Who are they?

Got a call on my mobile from someone who said they were returning my enquiry about a funeral plan and asked for me by my first name. I told them I'd never rang them, then this woman called Natalie asked if I knew the typical price of a funeral plan. I just ended the call after that.

they claimed our details were given to them by the manufacturer and that the washing machine warranty had just ended. if that’s even right(!) then they’re about a decade out of date.
