Absolutely had a similar encounter with a nonsensical call claiming that I was first in the queue waiting to be attended to. It seems they’re banking on folks dialing 1471 to ring them back, presumably to line their pockets with those premium rates! Best to steer clear of ringing them back, I reckon!

I picked up the call, only to be greeted by a pre-recorded message stating that there was nobody around to chat! Then, to my utter frustration, it suddenly launched into some music, prompting me to end the call! It’s incredibly irritating, especially as I’m disabled and it takes quite a lot of effort and causes me discomfort just to answer the phone!
