It's just another ploy for credit card theft, where they pretend to “verify your identity” to “halt the transaction.” In reality, they’re just after your card info over the phone! It seems that a cheeky £600 has magically vanished from my bank account! I couldn’t help but chuckle, considering I barely have a tenner to my name, if that! 😄 Clearly, this is a dodgy ploy - no need to get your knickers in a twist, everyone! Over the years, I've also had similar inquiries from various folks trying to locate her. It seems to me like these might be telemarketers or some such. Honestly, I have no information on this person whatsoever.

Watch out - the people ringing said they’re from the national debt helpline. They kick off by saying you owe money (which most families do these days with cards or loans), then carry on from there. The person on the phone seemed really dodgy when I asked stuff, so I looked up the National Debt Helpline site myself. As soon as I said I was checking their website, the caller just cut off. Feels like a complete scam to me!

Had a lady with a really thick Asian accent call me. She said she had my name and wanted to offer some kind of government supported debt assistance. I just told her I wasn’t interested and ended the call. Blocked the number afterwards.

Total scammers. Just block and dont share any info with them cause they collect everything to use later on in other scams. If you already gave bank or card info, close that account or cancel your card right away!! Make sure you report the number and the call on ico.org.uk by going to ‘Make a Complaint’, then ‘Nuisance Calls and messages’, and finally ‘Scam calls’. Take care!

0161 820 2361 keeps ringing me non-stop, it’s the same scam group. I’ve blocked them on a couple of other phones already, now they’ve switched to this number. So fed up with their calls. The worst part is you barely catch what they say - their English is terrible and sounds like it’s not their native tongue.

Received numerous calls from this number. The voice on the other end seems to have a foreign accent, and I'm quite uncertain about what they’re trying to sell.

Really strong Indian accent, almost hard to understand. He called me by name and said he was from some debt management firm. When I told him I wasn’t interested and that my number’s on the TPS list, he kept insisting he wasn’t trying to sell anything, but honestly it felt like a clear scam. Blocked the number straight away. Would be great if these con artists actually faced some consequences.

I told him, "So you called me, know my name, but can't say what debt I supposedly owe?" He just kept going on about GDPR. I warned him I'd report to the cops - I'm so angry! I’ve even done GDPR training before! Blocked the number right away.

answered the phone thinking it was someone else. it turned out to be a “debt advisor”! as soon as he began his usual spiel i said straight away there was no debts cos i only use cash. that didnt stop him tho, so i raised my voice telling them to remove me from their calls or i’d look into legal action for spreading false info. seemed to work in the end.

I told him straight I’m not interested and asked how he even got my details, and he started going on about creditors turning up at my house to collect cash. I kept asking what money he meant, like four times! Told him to take me off their list and never ring again, but he just wouldn’t listen. Ended up blocking the number.
