Phone number ☎️ 01618201694 👆 is reported as a persistent scam operation primarily impersonating Microsoft representatives, often with foreign accents. Callers claim technical issues or hacking threats targeting computers, aiming to deceive recipients into granting access or sharing information. Many victims report receiving multiple calls in short succession and stress that these are not legitimate Microsoft contacts. The number appears linked to international scam centres exploiting spoofing to appear local. I received a rather peculiar call today from a number claiming to be from Manchester. The caller was inquiring about an individual who I don't recognise, clearly not someone who resides at my address. They even probed whether my home was rented out, to which I replied negatively. The caller then insisted they must have mixed up their details, yet they remained on the line in eerie silence until I eventually hung up. Quite odd, considering I'm situated in the North East!

Had this bloke from India ring me up around lunchtime on Saturday, claiming he was from Microsoft. I saw straight through it and told him to find a proper job, which didn’t go down well. He actually rang back just to give us a mouthful, then tried twice more when no one was in. Felt pretty good to wind him up like that!

I received a rather alarming call from a woman claiming to be from Microsoft. She insisted that my personal details were being misused by some sort of criminals. At first, she sounded credible and began asking me to enter specific numbers on my device. I felt a sense of panic and decided to reach out to my daughter immediately for advice. She was quick to inform me that it was a scam, advising me to erase everything without hesitation. Upon doing so, the woman on the line became absolutely furious, raising her voice at me in a fit. I was advised to report this incident, but I wasn't sure about where to go for help. Nevertheless, I've made sure to alert my friends and family about this encounter.

SCAM ALERT! Make sure you report every scam call or text straight to the police fraud centre. Just search for ‘action fraud’ on Google and head to the ‘police.uk’ website. Find the section for ‘reporting phishing attempts’ and carefully read all the instructions before submitting the scam info. Be sure to add any links or URLs you’ve seen. You don’t need to sign up or give any personal details unless you’ve actually lost cash because of the scam. The only way the cops can track these crooks is if we all report every single dodgy call or message we get.
