10 yearsI had this bloke ring me up, said his name was John Davies, sounded like he was from India or somewhere around there. He started going on about some issue with my DNS, which I knew nothing about. When I started asking him questions to check what he was on about, he got really annoyed and told me to quit wasting his time or they’d cut off my internet. Proper rude and aggressive, he was. Kept saying he was from Microwise tech support and threatened that if I didn’t play along, he’d pass my info to Microsoft as being a pain and shut me down. In the background, you could hear what sounded like a busy call centre. She said there was an issue with my Microsoft Windows and asked me to enter some codes on my computer that would fix a problem I wasn’t aware of. When I asked for her information, that’s when she quickly cut the call. Seems really dodgy to me. I’ve heard about scams where they get remote access to your PC after you type in those codes, not sure if it was the same one.
