Someone rang me pretending to be from my bank, telling me there were some strange charges on my account and asked me to move money to a different account. I told them I would call my bank myself and then ended the call. Glad I trusted my gut because it turned out to be a scam. They sounded really believable.

Somehow they got my number off Gumtree, then started getting all abusive, yelling nasty stuff at me. Honestly, best just to ignore and not answer.

I had the exact same thing happen; right after putting up my ad on Gumtree, this Indian bloke gave me a ring from 02032390670. Definitely feels like a scam, like they're fishing for numbers off Gumtree.
