Someone pretending to be from HMRC rang me, but I was lucky to not pick up. The bloke called himself 'officer Sebastian Blake' and gave a number, 01618188738, supposedly for his department. His voice had a very obvious Dutch accent. He said the matter was very serious and urged me to ring back to 'stop any tough legal trouble.' The call finished with a weird message like, ‘This is a call for you, have a blessed day.’ Quite fishy if you ask me!

Got a robocall earlier from someone saying they were Jennifer Coleman at HMRC. They told me to ring back straight away about some major offence. Honestly, just don't bother with it, HMRC don’t operate like that. If I’d done anything that serious, I’m pretty sure I’d have been informed properly by now.

I got a call saying there was some massive lawsuit against me, so I rang my mam and ended up talking to her. She’s got dementia and it really upset her and my dad. These people are just awful. They seriously need to be stopped immediately!

About five minutes ago, I got a recorded call supposedly from Jennifer Coleman at HMRC, warning me of a big legal case against me and urging me to ring 0161 818 8738 straight away. When I rang the number, some bloke answered claiming to be from HMRC. I can't believe the police or HMRC haven’t shut this scam down yet. Doing a 1471 trace shows the call actually comes from that exact UK landline, so someone must be footing the bill. It’s clear the authorities know who’s behind it, or at least who’s helping this fraud run here in the UK.

But the strange bit was when my wife rang her mum from the same phone, a totally different number got an answer from some bloke saying, "you’ve got a message from us." Really odd!

It just felt dodgy, so I ended up blocking the number. They also tried ringing my mobile. Like others have said, if you get a call from this number, don’t answer it. On 10th October 2018 at about 11:52, I got an automated call claiming to be from HM Customs. They said we were facing a massive multi-million pound lawsuit and told us to call them straight away. Of course, we ignored it.

Got a robo call from HMRC warning they’d take action unless I rang them right back. When I called, they claimed they’d already filed stuff at the courthouse and wanted my lawyer’s info. Told them I don’t have one, and they said they’d either assign a government lawyer or I could get my own. I said I’d just represent myself. Asked what it was about and they said something about dodgy tax returns between 2011 and 2014 - somehow knew my full name too. I reckon no actual court papers will turn up. They said I owed £2300 but never asked for any payment or even my address.

Got a voicemail saying it was from HMRC. I called back the number and the person on the other end said they knew my name and claimed there was a legal case against me filed by HMRC. They told me I had to give details of my solicitor before they sent an arrest warrant. I asked them to send everything in writing, knowing it was a load of rubbish, and they just hung up on me.
